Arsenal Demand £17 million for Arshavin

By on January 12, 2011

Andrey Arshavin Andrey Arshavin of Arsenal in action during the Barclays Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on January 5, 2011 in London, England.

Andrei Arshavin could be heading off to Italy, as his agent confirmed that there is a possibility that he could sign for Juventus. The little Russian has been frustrating the Arsenal fans of late with his questionable on-field decisions, and a few small mistakes that have accumulated into heavy sighs and rolling eyes around the Emirates when the 29 year-old carelessly gives the ball away. It was only mid-2009 that Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp said that Arshavin had  “every chance of becoming a favourite of the London fans”.

The former Zenit midfielders agent confirmed that a move could be on the cards,

“There’s a possibility of Andrei’s move to Juventus. But there are two things that can prevent this deal.

“First, Arsenal can win the Premier League this year. The gold medal of the English league is a dream of any footballer.

“Second is the financial ability of Juve as Arsenal are demanding no less than $26 million [£17 million] to release Arshavin.

“It’s difficult for me to comment on certain items because he is a player who still has two-and-half-years on his contract with Arsenal and there are no formal offers.

But before we get carried away with the comments, lets just remember that Arshavin is most probably just in a dip in his form. Every player has them, and when you are low on confidence it takes a little while to get out of them. With the support of his manager, team mates and fans, Arshavin should be fine, after all, he is a quality player with impressive ability that caught Arsene Wenger’s eye in the first place. His agent continued,

“In any case I think it’s just speculation. Juventus could have taken Arshavin two-and-a-half years ago, but they didn’t want to.

“The player is happy in London. There could also be possibilities to move in January but, I repeat, we are talking about a player under contract and for which currently there is nothing concrete.”

Tell me what you think!

The player (Arshavin )is happy in London but the media have been quoting for a while now that London is far to expensive for a 75000 pound a week player of Arshavin,s calibre ,so which is it he,s happy or London is to expensive ?

I say we should offload him and take the cash to bring in Hazard who should fit Wenger’s profile in the 1st place – Young and french. Arshavin’s 1st choice isn’t us anyway – his heart is never with us in the 1st place. I will rather take Andy Caroll who shows 120% committment than having to wish for a 5% chance of Arshavin showing his brillance.

Cahill is better and English with plenty of expirience so we need him or samba. And I would sell arshavin in the summer and buy hazard. That’s what I think will happen then we will have a shit hot team!

Arshavin must not be sold he’s a player that can turn a game in an instance so we sell him at our peril, you have been warned fellow gooners.

the players to sell are Denilson, Rosicky, Vela, Bendtner, and replace them with Hazard, Vertonghen, Lukaku/Falcao and then promote JET. Vergonghen would provide cover for three slots-CB, LB and DM for song. Rosicky’s influence on the game is hardly there. Correct me if i am wrong he has not scored in almost 30games and he hardly creates assists. Bendtner lacks good ball control and is often ‘lazy’. I think for AA its just an issue of form and his class is permanent. Despite the deep in his form he has directly or indirectly contributed 18goals to the team. For Denilson we all know why! Vela needs games away on loan. would really improve the team.
