Liverpool Battling Arsenal & Chelsea To Sign Bargain £11.5m Brazilian Attacker

Liverpool are in a battle with Arsenal and Chelsea to sign Bernard with Shakhtar Donetsk ready to cash-in on the attacker for just £11.5m this winter

The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are linked with a Brazilian midfielder….

Liverpool are in a battle with Arsenal and Chelsea to sign Bernard with Shakhtar Donetsk ready to cash-in on the attacker for just £11.5m this winter, according to a report in the Mirror.

Bernard has been a huge success since joining Shakhtar from boyhood club Atlético Mineiro in 2013 with the winger providing 24 goals and 32 assists in 146 appearances over the past four years.

The 25-year-old has also made his mark on the international scene with the attacker earning 14 caps for Brazil so far having represented his country at the 2014 World Cup finals.

However, Bernard’s future is in serious doubt as he’s in the final year of his contract and is prepared to run down the rest his deal after failing to agree terms over an extension.

Understandably, the South American is an attractive free transfer for many clubs with the Mirror claiming Liverpool have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in expressing their interest in signing the player.

The newspaper cites a report from Brazilian outlet UOL that claims Bernard wants to stay in Europe when he leaves Shakhtar, which will boost the trio’s chances of luring him to the Premier League.

However, the Ukrainian champions are reluctant to lose the attacker for nothing at the end of the season so the report claims they are ready to cash-in during the January transfer window.

The Mirror suggest that Shakhtar have set the asking price at £11.5m, which would be an absolute bargain for a player of Bernard’s quality and the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea could easily afford to pay that kind of money.

Bernard is predominantly played as a left winger and he’s already got 6 goals in his 18 appearances this season, so I think he would be an excellent signing for any of the English clubs being linked.
