[Tweet] Piers Morgan Mocks Arsene Wenger After Arsenal Lose To Cologne

Arsenal fan and celebrity TV presenter Piers Morgan has once again taken aim at Arsene Wenger after we slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Cologne this evening.

We headed to Germany already qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League but knew a draw would be good enough to secure top spot with a game to spare.

The opposition were bottom of Group H and rock bottom of the Bundesliga having taken just 2 points all season so it’s fair to say we should have been confident of bringing home all three points.

However, the second-string eleven struggled to create many clear cut chances and Cologne snatched an unlikely win when they were gifted a generous penalty midway through the second half.

Morgan – who is extremely vocal with his Arsenal views on Twitter and is seriously in the ‘WengerOut’ camp – took to the social micro-blogging site on the full-time whistle to poke fun at Wenger for his record in Europe.

Obviously we shouldn’t overreact to a defeat in what was basically a meaningless game for Arsenal as we’re still guaranteed to finish top of the group after Red Star drew with BATE.

However, it was a dismal showing from Arsenal and the players are going to have to step things up if we’re to make any sort of impression in the knockout stages.
