Willian came off the bench to score a stunning late goal to secure Chelsea a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield this evening.

The first half was fairly even with both sides cancelling each other out but Chelsea could argue they had the better of it as the two sides went in to the break level at 0-0.

Liverpool were more positive after the break and Jurgen Klopp’s side opened the scoring midway through the second half when Mohamed Salah continued his excellent goal-scoring form to fire the Reds ahead against his former club in the 65th minute.

It looked like Salah’s goal would be enough to secure all three points for Liverpool, however, there was a late twist as Willian came off the bench to score an equaliser for Chelsea.

The Brazilian international was introduced as a substitute in the 82nd minute and he made an immediate impact chipping home a stunning goal in the 85th minute – although there will be question marks over whether he meant it.

Salah almost won it for Liverpool in injury time but he was denied by Thibaut Courtois so it ended 1-1 which leaves the Reds fifth in the table – one point behind Tottenham – and Chelsea three points behind Man Utd in third.
