Arsene Wenger confirmed a huge fitness boost ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Huddersfield but a midfielder is set to miss out.

Arsenal have an excellent chance to cement their position in the top four when we entertain Huddersfield at the Emirates tomorrow night.

Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.

The manager had some good news regarding the fitness of Mesut Ozil as the playmaker is set to return to training today and could be back in contention tomorrow night.

Ozil was a late withdrawal ahead of the win over Burnley after feeling unwell on the morning of the game and Wenger initially said he thought the player would be unavailable to face Huddersfield.

However, the German international is now ready to resume full training today and the boss will assess him at London Colney before making a late decision over his involvement tomorrow.

Wenger also revealed a fresh injury concern as Alex Iwobi is expected to miss out against Huddersfield after suffering a dead leg on Sunday afternoon.

Iwobi replaced Ozil in the starting eleven at the weekend and played 67 minutes before being replaced by Jack Wilshere but it seems the midfielder picked up a leg problem which could rule him out of tomorrow’s game.

Wenger is quoted as saying by Football London:

“Ozil is planned to practice today. We make an assessment after the training session.

“Iwobi got a dead leg, we are not sure he will be available. Everybody else should be available.

“Santi Cazorla of course is still out.”

Otherwise, the squad is in good health as Theo Walcott is set to return to the fold after missing the last three games with a virus meaning Santi Cazorla is the only long-term absentee.

We head in to the midweek action sitting fourth in the table following the win over Burnley so we can cement that position with a victory tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s huge clash with Manchester United.
