The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are confident of signing Danny Rose…

Manchester United are increasingly confident of signing Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose in a £50m deal either in January or next summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Rose’s future at White Hart Lane has been in serious doubt ever since he conducted an interview in the summer where he questioned Tottenham’s transfer policy and wage structure.

The England international also admitted he would consider a move away from north London and would ideally like to move back up north to be closer to his family who live in Doncaster.

This led to speculation linking him with a switch to United but Spurs refused to sell Rose after already losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City so the player ended up staying after issuing a public apology.

However, Rose’s future continues to be uncertain as he’s struggling to force his way back in to Mauricio Pochettino’s first team since recovering from a serious knee injury and he admitted he was unhappy at being left out of the squad for last month’s defeat to Arsenal.

The Daily Mail claim United are ready to renew their interest in Rose and are growing increasingly confident of signing the 27-year-old in a £50m deal either in January or next summer.

Left-back has been something of a problem area for Jose Mourinho since he took charge as a number of players have failed to make the position their own so a long-term solution is needed.

Luke Shaw continues to be out-of-favour and while Ashley Young has performed superbly since being deployed in the unfamiliar role this season, Mourinho knows he needs to find a top class replacement and it seems Rose is the man he wants.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but I think it’s just a matter of time before Rose leaves Tottenham and wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up moving to Old Trafford next summer.
