[Video Highlights] Man Utd 1-0 Bournemouth: Lukaku Nets Winner For Lucky Reds
Romelu Lukaku scored the only goal of the game as a below-par Manchester United were fortunate to beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Old Trafford this evening.
United weren’t at their best in the first half and Bournemouth enjoyed their fair share of possession with the visitors looking dangerous in spells with David De Gea forced in to a fine save from Daniels.
However, it was United who broke the deadlock midway through the first half as Juan Mata found Romelu Lukaku with a lovely clipped cross and the Belgian international headed home in the 25th minute.
The visitors continued to be the better side for periods of the game but couldn’t find a way through and United almost doubled their lead late on as Marcus Rashford clattered the bar with a thunderous effort.
United held on to secure a 1-0 win that sees them move three points clear of third-placed Chelsea but they remain 11 adrift of Man City after they thrashed Swansea tonight.
