Top £60m Arsenal Target Confirms He’s Open To Joining Gunners

Nabil Fekir has confirmed he’d be open to joining Arsenal when he decides to leave Lyon but insists he doesn’t have a specific club he wants to move to

The January transfer window is just around the corner meaning clubs are working hard on potential deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Nabil Fekir names Arsenal as one of the clubs he’d join…

Nabil Fekir has confirmed he’d be open to joining Arsenal when he decides to leave Lyon but insists he doesn’t have a specific club he wants to move to, according to the Mirror.

With Alexis Sanchez expected to leave either in January or next summer, Arsene Wenger is on the look out for attacking reinforcements and Fekir has emerged as a prime target.

The Daily Star reported last month that Arsenal are in advanced negotiations with Lyon over a possible club record £60m deal to sign Fekir when the transfer window reopens next month.

The 24-year-old has been in sensational form so far this season having scored 14 goals in his 21 appearances in all competitions making him one of the most prolific attackers in Europe right now.

The French international has now name-checked Arsenal as one of the clubs he’d be open to joining when he does leave Lyon but Fekir insists he doesn’t have a specific club lined-up.

When asked about where he might end up, Fekir is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“Spain, with Real [Madrid], Barcelona and Atletico [Madrid] who are the big clubs,”

“After that there is England: Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal. I don’t have a specific club [I want to go to].

“Is this my last season at Lyon? I don’t know what the future holds for me. I’ve still got two years left on my contract. So, I’m still Lyonnais.”

So it seems Fekir is keeping his options open but it’s good to see he’s at least named Arsenal as one of the clubs he’d be keen to join as he didn’t name-check the likes of Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool from England’s ‘big 6’.

Fekir has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract and Lyon insist they won’t cash-in this winter but I think there resolve will be severely tested next summer as the attacker’s value will drop if he doesn’t sign an extension with the French outfit.

The youngster is predominantly a central attacking midfielder but he can play through the middle or even out wide so he’d be a superb replacement for Sanchez if we could lure him to the Emirates.
