Arsenal will look to book their place in the semi finals of the Carabao Cup when we take on West Ham at the Emirates this evening.

It’s been a frustrating few weeks as we somehow lost at home to Man Utd before being held to disappointing draws at Southampton and West Ham but thankfully we got back to winning ways with a win over Newcastle on Saturday.

However, it’s the League Cup that will be the focus this evening and we booked our place in the last-8 thanks to Eddie Nketiah as the youngster came off the bench to score twice during a 2-1 comeback win over Norwich City.

The performances from the ‘second string’ in the cups have been inconsistent this season but they will get another chance to impress tonight as Arsene Wenger will rest his big guns ahead of Friday night’s huge showdown with Liverpool.

West Ham come in to the game having turned their season around since the appointment of David Moyes as he’s steered them out of the bottom three with wins over Chelsea and Stoke as well as the draw with us.

The Hammers also came from behind to beat Tottenham 3-2 at Wembley in the previous round of the Carabao Cup so they should be confident of getting a result tonight.

Team news

Our first team regulars will all be rested while Jack Wilshere should also be given a breather having played every minute of our last two league games.

Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out until the New Year with a hamstring injury while Shkodran Mustafi will be saved for the Liverpool game after recently recovering from a thigh injury.

Wenger has confirmed Theo Walcott will feature after recovering from a groin problem and he could be joined in attack by Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

The likes of David Ospina, Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny are also pushing for starts while Sead Kolasinac could play having not featured in our last two games.

West Ham will be without Jose Fonte, Edimilson Fernandes and Sam Byram while Cheikhou Kouyate, Pablo Zabaleta and Marko Arnautovic are also doubts.

Expected line-ups

Predicted Score

Arsenal 2-1 West Ham: The Hammers were well organised in the league game last week but hopefully this will be a more open game in the cup. We don’t have a great record against Premier League sides at home in the League Cup having lost our last four games but hopefully the fringe players will put in a top performance tonight. I’m backing the boys to edge it 2-1.
