[Video Highlights] Arsenal 1-0 West Ham: Welbeck On Target As Gunners Reach Semis

By on December 19, 2017

Danny Welbeck scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal booked their place in the semi finals of the Carabao Cup with a 1-0 win over West Ham at the Emirates.

It was a slow start by both teams as we struggled to find any fluency in our passing game and clear cut chances were at a premium with a Theo Walcott header the best opportunity of the opening 40 minutes.

However, with half-time approaching, Arsenal broke the deadlock as Welbeck was on hand to bundle the ball home from close range following a Mathieu Debuchy headed cross in the 42nd minute.

An Aaron Cresswell free kick midway through the second half was about as close as West Ham came to finding an equaliser while Arsenal could have had a penalty when Welbeck was fouled by Joe Hart right on the edge of the area.

However, there were no further goals in the second half so Arsenal eased in to the semi finals of the League with a narrow 1-0 win at the Emirates this evening.
