By on December 26, 2017

Harry Kane continued his sensational form after scoring a hat-trick as Tottenham thrashed Southampton 5-2 at Wembley this afternoon.

Kane opened the scoring midway through the first half as he headed home from close range following a Christian Eriksen free-kick and the striker tapped home to make it 2-0 just before half-time following a lovely team move.

Spurs made it 3-0 minutes in to the second half as Dele Alli curled home a low effort from the edge of the area before Heung-min Son fired home to make it 4-0 in the 51st minute.

Southampton pulled one back midway through the second half as Boufal beat Hugo Lloris at his near post but Tottenham restored their four-goal advantage as Kane completed his hat-trick with a fine finish in the 67th minute.

The treble means Kane breaks Alan Shearer’s record for the number of Premier League goals scored in a calendar year and while Southampton grabbed a late consolation, Spurs eased to a 5-2 win.
