Liverpool Target Refuses To Rule Out Joining Man Utd Amid £40m Move Reports

Liverpool target Lucas Moura has refused to rule out joining Manchester United this month after admitting he needs to leave Paris Saint-Germain

The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Lucas Moura has refused to rule out joining Man Utd

Lucas Moura has refused to rule out joining Manchester United this month after admitting he needs to leave Paris Saint-Germain in search of regular football, according to the Mirror.

Moura has been tipped to leave the Parc des Prince this month after falling out-of-favour under Unai Emery this season with the winger playing just 71 minutes of Ligue 1 football so far this campaign.

The Brazilian international was an unused substitute once again yesterday with the likes of Neymar, Julian Draxler, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

It’s no surprise then that Moura has confirmed he’s eyeing a move in order to rejuvenate his career ahead of the World Cup and the attacker has been linked with a switch to England.

The Express reported earlier this month that Jose Mourinho had identified Moura as a January signing and PSG are ready to cash-in if £40m is put on the table – although United would prefer an initial loan deal.

French outlet Le Parisian then reported last week that Liverpool have joined the chase to sign Moura as Jurgen Klopp looks to fill the void left by Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona.

However, United are still reportedly the front-runners and Moura has now refused to rule out a move to Old Trafford after admitting that he is a huge fan of the Premier League.

Moura is quoted as saying by the Express:

“It feels the end of a story for me unfortunately. Can I stay? It will be very difficult.

“Manchester United? There are topics I cannot talk about. English football I like a lot, it is the most competitive championship.”

The 25-year-old’s comments come after his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, confirmed that Mourinho tried to sign Moura for Real Madrid and is now looking to take him to United.

Ribeiro is quoted as saying by the Express:

“Who called Lucas Moura there [to Real Madrid]? It wasn’t Florentino Perez who wanted Lucas Moura, it was Mourinho,”

“Mourinho was and is passionate about Lucas Moura. So much so that now at Manchester he wants Lucas as well.”

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but it looks like Moura is certain to leave Paris this month and a move to the Premier League is a distinct possibility.
