Transfer News: Liverpool & Tottenham Table Offers For £35m Argentinean International
Liverpool and Tottenham has tabled offers to try and sign Javier Pastore but the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder favours a move back to Italy
The January transfer window is in full swing so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Javier Pastore has attracted interest from England…
Liverpool and Tottenham have tabled offers to try and sign Javier Pastore but the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder favours a move back to Italy, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Pastore has developed in to one of the best midfield players in French football since joining PSG from Palermo in 2011 with the South American winning a whole host of honours including four Ligue 1 titles.
However, the 28-year-old has found himself out of favour under Unai Emery this season as Pastore has started just 8 games in the league and Champions League so far this campaign.
PSG need to offload some high earners to help balance the books to meet Financial Fair Play guidelines and it seems Pastore could be one of those sacrificed with the midfielder attracting plenty of interest this month.
Sky Italia journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, claims that Liverpool and Tottenham have now formalised their interest after tabling offers worth between £22m and £35m for the Argentinean international.
Jurgen Klopp is in the market for a top class midfielder amid on-going doubts over the future of Emre Can – who’s contract expires in June – and it seems the Reds boss has his eye on Pastore.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is also looking to further strengthen his squad and a new central midfielder is on the agenda due to Moussa Dembele’s long-term fitness issues.
Pastore would be an excellent signing for either club, however, it looks like they are set to miss out as Di Marzio says the PSG star has rejected Liverpool and Tottenham’s proposals as he wants to move back to Italy.
The report says Serie A giants Inter Milan are now in pole position to sign Pastore with his agent in Milan trying to trash out a deal before the window closes next week.
