£70m-Rated South American Ready To Join Liverpool In Big-Money Deal
Bayern Munich attacker James Rodriguez wants to move to the Premier League and Liverpool is his preferred destination, according to reports
The January transfer window closes tonight so clubs are working hard trying to get last minute deals over the line and put deals in place for the summer. Today, James Rodriguez wants to join Liverpool….
Bayern Munich attacker James Rodriguez wants to move to the Premier League and Liverpool is his preferred destination, according to a report in the Express.
Rodriguez made his name at the 2014 World Cup and earned a big money move to Real Madrid but things didn’t work out for him at the Bernabeu and he joined Bayern Munich on a two-year loan last summer.
The Colombian international has been rediscovering some of his best form in Germany and it’s sparked speculation that Madrid could look to recall him from his loan early as Zinedine Zidane plans to revamp his squad at the end of the season.
However, Rodriguez has also been attracting interest from the Premier League and reports earlier this month claimed Liverpool were in talks with his agent about a move to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp is on the look out for another attacking midfielder following Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona and it seems the Reds boss has lined-up Rodriguez as a potential replacement.
It seems the speculation is intensifying as the Express are now citing a report from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital that claims Rodriguez wants to come to England with Liverpool his preferred destination.
Any potential move will have to wait until the summer as Liverpool would first need to persuade Bayern to cut short his loan spell and then they’d have to agree a fee with Madrid.
The Express reported earlier this month that Rodriguez would be valued at around £70m so Liverpool would have to spend a large portion of their Coutinho money on the South American if they push ahead with a deal.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but I think Rodriguez would be a superb signing for Liverpool but a deal is going to be extremely complicated to pull-off.
