[Video Goals] Tottenham 2-0 Man Utd: Eriksen On Target As Spurs Sink Utd

By on January 31, 2018

A quick-fire goal from Christian Eriksen sent Tottenham on the way to an impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley this evening.

Tottenham flew out of the blocks and there was barely 11 seconds on the clock when Eriksen cooly curled home a loose ball from 8 yards after United had failed to deal with a long ball from Jan Vertonghen straight from kick off.

United initially recovered well and had a could of chances to get themselves level but Hugo Lloris was equal to anything Jose Mourinho’s men could throw at them.

Spurs then began to dominate the game and doubled their lead midway through the first half when Phil Jones sliced a Kieran Trippier cross in to his own net for 2-0 in the 28th minute.

United struggled to get themselves back in to the game and clear cut chances were hard to come by while Spurs had some half-chances to further extend their lead.

There was no more goals so Tottenham settled for a 2-0 win that sees them move to within two points of the top four while United remain second – three points above Liverpool/Chelsea and 15 adrift of leaders Man City.
