Man Utd Ready To Agree £10m Deal After Holding Talks To Sign Dutch Attacker

By on February 4, 2018

The January transfer window in now closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Man Utd are linked with Justin Kluivert….

Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Justin Kluivert and are ready to agree a £10m deal to sign the highly-rated Ajax attacker in the summer, according to the Mirror.

Kluivert – son of Dutch legend Patrick – has been with Ajax his entire career and came through the youth ranks before breaking in to the first team set-up last season.

The 18-year-old is now a regular in the starting eleven with the Eredivisie giants and has provided 6 goals and 2 assists in his 23 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

It seems Kluivert’s potential has alerted Jose Mourinho as the Mirror claim United are in advanced talks with Ajax to sign the winger when the summer transfer window opens.

Mourinho has been keeping a close eye on Kluivert’s career for many years and he even spoke at length with the teenager after United’s Europa Cup final win over Ajax last season.

The newspaper says United are ready to pay £10m to take Kluivert to Old Trafford with the deal also including various performance-related add ons but it remains to be seen whether Ajax are ready to cash-in just yet.

If United could get a deal agreed then it looks like they wouldn’t have too much trouble finding terms with the youngster as the Mirror claim Kluivert is excited by the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but Kluivert would be a hugely exciting player for the future if Mourinho is successful in luring him to Old Trafford.

He’s predominantly played as a left winger but he’s just as comfortable playing on the opposite flank, although I think Kluivert will have to bide his time before he’d be a first team regular at United if he does join the club this summer.
