The January transfer window in now closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Abdoulaye Doucoure is attracting plenty of interest….

Tottenham are ready to swoop for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure but could face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool for the £20m-rated midfielder, according to the Daily Mail.

Doucoure has developed in to a key figure for Watford since joining the club from Rennes in an £8m deal in 2016 with the midfielder making 27 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.

The 25-year-old starred during the Hornets 4-1 victory over Chelsea on Monday night and the Daily Mail claim Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was in the stands to keep a close eye on the Frenchman.

The newspaper says Pochettino was impressed with what he saw and is now lining-up a summer swoop for Doucoure as the Tottenham manager looks to further strengthen his options in the middle of the park.

However, Spurs aren’t the only club showing a keen interest as the Daily Mail claims Arsenal and Liverpool are also eyeing Doucoure and could challenge Tottenham for his signature this summer.

Arsene Wenger is expected to dip in to the market for at least one central midfielder at the end of the season as Santi Cazorla’s career is in doubt due to injury while the Gunners haven’t replaced Francis Coquelin following his move to Valencia last month.

Jurgen Klopp is also drawing-up a list of midfield targets as Erme Can is being hotly-tipped to join Juventus on a free transfer and it seems Doucoure is also on the Liverpool boss’s radar.

The report says Watford are trying to tie the French U21 international down to a new deal but they are expecting offers to arrive this summer and will demand at least £20m for his signature.
