Liverpool will be looking for a win to go second in the table when they welcome West Ham to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Here is the side I think Jurgen Klopp will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Loris Karius is now Klopp’s first choice goalkeeper so the German youngster should once again start in goal with Simon Mignolet on the bench.

Defence: Joe Gomez is pushing for a recall after returning to full fitness so we could see him replace Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back but Andrew Robertson should continue on the opposite side of the defence with Alberto Monreno among the substitutes.

Dejan Lovren started during the 5-0 Champions League win at Porto last week but we could see Joel Matip recalled to start alongside Virgil van Dijk this weekend.

Midfield: Klopp is expected to bring Emre Can straight back in to the midfield after he missed the win over Porto through suspension so James Milner could be the man to make way.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also pushing for a recall against West Ham so Gini Wijnaldum could drop out but Jordan Henderson should keep his place in the middle of the park.

Attack: I don’t expect there to be any changes in attack as the preferred trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have all been firing on all cylinders in recent games.

Mane bagged a hat-trick against Porto while both Salah and Firmino were also on target in the Champions League last-16 rout so I expect the trio to continue in attack this weekend.

It means the likes of Dominic Solanke, Adam Lallana and Danny Ings will once again have to make do with places on the bench.

Here is how we think Liverpool will line up:
