Tottenham Team News: Pochettino Confirms Major Injury Doubt For Crystal Palace Trip
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Toby Alderweireld is a doubt to face Crystal Palace after aggravating a hamstring injury in training.
Tottenham will be looking to keep the pressure on the top four with a win when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.
The Spurs boss has revealed a major injury blow with the news that Toby Alderweireld is a doubt for the game this weekend after picking up an injury in training on Thursday afternoon.
Alderweireld has only recently recovered from a serious hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for three months and it seems this fresh issue is on the same leg.
Pochettino says the Belgian international will be assessed over the next 24 hours to see if he’ll be available for the trip to Selhurst Park but he hopes the injury isn’t a big problem.
The Spurs boss said:
#thfc Pochettino: "Toby yesterday couldn't finish the training session. He suffered a small incident in the same leg. We’ll assess today and tomorrow & see if he’s available for training & if it’s possible for him to be selected this w/e. But I think & hope it’s not a big issue.”

If Alderweireld is ruled out then Davinson Sanchez is expected to start alongside Jan Vertonghen in the middle of defence this weekend and the Colombian has made an impressive start to life in north London since arriving from Ajax in the summer.
Spurs head in to the weekend action sitting fifth in the table but they are just one point adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea so they’ll want to climb in to the top four with a win over Palace on Sunday.
