[Video Goals] Arsenal 0-3 Man City: Aguero Fires City To Carabao Cup Win

By on February 25, 2018

Manchester City won the Carabao Cup after securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley this afternoon.

Arsenal missed the first decent chance of the game as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw his close range effort superbly saved by Claudio Bravo on the goal-line.

The Gunners were made to rue that miss as City opened the scoring in the 18th minute thanks to some schoolboy defending from Shkodran Mustafi as the German allowed Sergio Aguero to race clear straight from a goal-kick and the striker lobbed David Ospina for 1-0.

City put their foot down in the second half and doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Vincent Kompany poked home from an Ilkay Gundogan miss-hit shot following a corner.

Any chance of an Arsenal comeback was over when David Silva turned Calum Chambers to lash home in to Ospina’s far corner for 3-0 in the 65th minute.

There was no late drama as City eased to a comfortable victory to clinch the first trophy of the season while Pep Guardiola also got his hands on his first piece of silverware since arriving in England.
