Manchester United and Chelsea will battle Liverpool over a deal to sign Alisson if either club lose their goalkeeper to Real Madrid this summer
The January transfer window in closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Man Utd and Chelsea are linked with Alisson….
Manchester United and Chelsea will battle Liverpool over a deal to sign Alisson if either club lose their goalkeeper to Real Madrid this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.
Alisson has developed in to one of the best keepers in Europe since joining Roma from Inter Milan in 2016 and he’s now a regular with the Brazilian national team.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with the 25-year-old in recent weeks with Sky Sports News reporting earlier this month that the Reds have opened initial talks with Alisson’s agent about a move to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp is in the market for a new number one as neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius have been able to establish themselves between the sticks at Anfield over the past two years.
Alisson has emerged as Liverpool’s prime target and they were hoping to get a deal in place ahead of the summer but it looks like they could yet face stiff competition for his signature.
The Mirror claim that Man Utd and Chelsea will target Alisson if either team loses their current number one with Real Madrid eyeing both David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois this summer.
United are desperate to keep hold of De Gea but it looks like Madrid are ready to renew their interest after failing with several moves for the Spanish international in the past and Jose Mourinho is making contingency plans in-case he loses his star man.
Chelsea also want to keep Courtois but the Belgian international has just 18 months left on his contract and is yet to sign a new deal so it looks like Madrid are ready to pounce if he doesn’t commit his future at Stamford Bridge.
Should the La Liga giants be successful in landing either De Gea or Courtois then the Mirror claim United or Chelsea will look to hijack Liverpool’s attempts to sign Alisson.
However, the Brazilian star won’t come cheap as Sky Sports suggest Roma want a world record fee for a goalkeeper and will demand £62m for his signature so the English trio better be prepared to dig deep if they want to lure Alisson to the Premier League.
