Who will finish in the top 4 and will Kane win the race for the Golden Boot?

We take a look at who will finish in the top four in the Premier League and whether Harry Kane will win the race to win the Golden Boot this season.

Manchester City are storming their way to the Premier League title with Pep Guardiola’s men holding an unassailable lead at the top of the table. However, there is a fierce battle going on behind the Citizens as five teams are battling for just three Champions League qualification spots.

Manchester United are currently in pole position as they sit second in the table on 56 points. However, Jose Mourinho’s men are under pressure as they are now just four points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham so they have been dragged in to the race for the top 4. Mourinho is used to fighting for titles not the top 4 but I think he’ll do enough to grind out enough points to secure Champions League football next season.

Liverpool are arguably the in-form team right now as Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are ripping teams apart and Virgil van Dijk seems to have tightened things up at the back. Jurgen Klopp’s side are just two points ahead of Spurs in the EPL, and odds from wagering providers such as CrownBet have Liverpool at 1.15 to make the top 4 so they are well placed. In fact, if they continue to play like they are right now I think they’ll finish second behind City.

Antonio Conte’s position as Chelsea manager has come under scrutiny in recent weeks following a poor run of form and I think their Champions League tie with Barcelona will decide his fate. The players don’t look like they are playing for the Italian boss anymore and if the inconsistent league results continue then I wouldn’t be surprised to see Conte sacked and Chelsea to miss out on the top 4.

So City, United and Liverpool are in, Chelsea will miss out, but who will take the final spot? Spurs are now just one point behind Chelsea in fifth after enjoying some positive results against Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal in recent weeks and I think they will snatch the remaining Champions League place. Arsenal have fallen way off the pace and are now eight points adrift in sixth so it will take a miracle for Arsene Wenger’s men to sneak in to the top 4. Spurs look strong and I think Harry Kane will fire them to a top 4 finish this season ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Kane to take Golden Boot?

Kane is enjoying another sensational campaign with 23 goals in his 26 Premier League games so far and the Tottenham hitman leads the race for the Golden Boot. However, Kane has fierce competition as Mohamed Salah and Sergio Aguero are breathing down his neck so it’s promising to be an exciting battle to be crowned the league’s top marksman.

Salah has proven to be a superb signing for Liverpool with the Egyptian international not only scoring 22 goals so far despite not being a traditional striker but he’s also scored some stunning efforts along the way. However, surely he can’t keep it up until the end of the season?

Aguero has been one of the best strikers in the Premier League for several years and he took his tally this campaign to 21 with a four-goal haul against Leicester last week. The Argentinean international is in a purple patch as he’s scored 8 goals in his last 4 league games but he is susceptible to injury problems and with Gabriel Jesus close to returning, I think Aguero will end up missing out on the Golden Boot.

Kane is leading the way and I don’t think anyone will stop the Tottenham man from finishing the season as the league’s top scorer once again. He’s the 1.65 favourite with the bookmakers and you can click here to see the full market and back Kane if you fancy him to see-off competition from Salah and Aguero during the final 11 games of the season.
