By on March 5, 2018

Nemanja Matic scored a stunning last gasp winner as Manchester United came from 2-0 down to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at Selhurst Park tonight.

Palace started brightly and opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Andros Townsend curled home a wonderful effort from the edge of the area.

The hosts then doubled their advantage shortly after the break as Patrick van Aanholt raced clear following a quick free-kick and fired past David De Gea for 2-0.

However, United pulled one back through a Chris Smalling header shortly after and Romelu Lukaku made it 2-2 with 15 minutes remaining following a scramble in the box.

It looked like Palace were going to hold on for a 2-2 draw but Matic stepped up to lash home a stunning effort from 25-yards in injury time to snatch all three points for United.

The victory sees Jose Mourinho’s men leapfrog Liverpool in to second position in the Premier League table with nine games remaining.
