Jose Mourinho has persuaded Gareth Bale to join Manchester United as Real Madrid prepare to sell the attacker for £87.5m this summer, according to reports today.
Bale forged a reputation as one of the best attackers in the world during his time at Tottenham Hotspur which earned him a big-money move to Madrid during the summer of 2013.
The 28-year-old has provided 79 goals and 58 assists in his 179 appearances to help Madrid win a whole host of top honours including 3 Champions League trophies in the last five years.
However, Bale’s future at the Bernabeu has been called in to question this season as a series of niggling injuries have hampered his progress and reports suggest Madrid are growing tired of the amount of time he spends on the sidelines.
The Welsh international has been in and out of Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven since returning to fitness in the New Year and it’s led to rumours the Euro giants are ready to cash-in.
The Mirror are also citing reports from Marca that claim Bale has isolated himself from the rest of the squad and Zidane has questioned the attackers attitude in recent months.
United have long been linked with Bale and the Mirror says the Welshman has finally agreed to make a move to Old Trafford after being persuaded following talks with Mourinho.
The ‘Special One’ is expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer building a squad capable of competing for major trophies and Bale could provide the spark that’s been missing at times this season.
The Express are also quoting reports from Spain as saying that Madrid are prepared to sell Bale for £87.5m this summer so a move to United looks to be on the cards.
