Arsenal & Tottenham In Battle To Sign £43.6m South American Star

Arsenal and Tottenham face a battle with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Bordeaux’s £43.6m-rated attacker Malcom this summer

The transfer window is closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Malcom…

Arsenal and Tottenham face a battle with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Bordeaux’s £43.6m-rated attacker Malcom this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Malcom has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Europe since joining Bordeaux just over two years ago and he’s provided 9 goals and 7 assists in his 28 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The Brazilian U23 international has caught the attention of clubs here in the Premier League with the Mirror claiming that Arsenal and Tottenham are showing a keen interest in the winger.

Arsene Wenger is expected to overhaul his squad following a poor campaign and the Gunners could certainly do with some natural width having sold Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott in January.

Mauricio Pochettino is also expected to further strengthen his talented young squad this summer following another encouraging season and Spurs looked to be going head-to-head with Arsenal for Malcom’s signature.

The north London duo are expected to renew their interest at the end of the season having been strongly linked with the South American during the winter window.

However, it seems Arsenal and Tottenham will now face stiff competition as the Mirror claim that PSG have joined the chase for Malcom’s signature and may even be regarded as favourites.

The Ligue 1 giants obviously have the financial resources needed to sign the attacker and the newspaper is citing reports from France Football that claim PSG’s sporting director, Antero Henrique, has a close relationship with Malcom’s agents.

The French giants will now try and use those connections to get a deal agreed for the Brazilian with the Mirror suggesting that Bordeaux may cash-in if £43.6m [€50m] is put on the table.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming months but I think Malcom would be an excellent signing for either Arsenal or Tottenham if they could beat PSG to his signature this summer.
