Euro Giants Agree To Sell £25m Star To Liverpool As Klopp Eyes Coutinho Replacement

The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Dani Ceballos…

Real Madrid are ready to sell Dani Ceballos to Liverpool as boss Jurgen Klopp finally closes-in on a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, according to CalcioMercato.

Klopp failed to bring in a new midfielder following Coutinho’s £142m move to Barcelona in January as the Liverpool boss opted to bide his time and wait until the summer to get his main targets.

It was widely reported in the winter that Klopp wanted Ceballos but Madrid were reluctant to let the midfielder leave mid-season, however, it looks like things have changed at the Bernabeu.

CalcaioMercato are citing reports from Don Balon that claim Madrid president Florentino Perez is planning to overhaul their squad this summer and is now ready to sell Ceballos to Liverpool.

The Spanish publication says Klopp sees the 21-year-old as the ideal addition to his squad and Ceballos has made it clear he wants to leave in search of more regular first team football.

The Spanish U21 international joined Madrid from Real Betis last summer but has struggled to force his way in to Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven on a regular basis this season.

Ceballos has started just 2 La Liga games this campaign with the majority of his action coming in the cup competitions so it’s understandable he’s keen to find a fresh start.

TeamTalk reported late last month that Madrid valued Ceballos at around £25m and I think it would be a superb deal in today’s market if Liverpool could snap-up the talented attacking midfielder for that sort of money.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but Ceballos would provide Klopp with another top class option if he does end up making the move to Anfield this summer.
