The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Richarlison…

Manchester United are ready to gazump Chelsea with a swoop for Watford’s £40m-rated attacker Richarlison this summer, according to the Mirror.

Richarlison joined Watford from Fluminense in an £11.5m deal last summer and enjoyed an excellent start to life in the Premier League after providing 5 goals and 5 assists during his first 13 appearances.

The Brazilian attackers form has dipped in recent months as he hasn’t found the back of the net in his last 22 appearances and he was axed for the recent 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

However, it seems some top English clubs have seen plenty of potential in Richarlison thanks to his early-season form as the Mirror claim that Chelsea have been leading the chase to sign him this summer.

The Blues are expected to revamp their squad this summer following a disappointing campaign and Richarlison has been identified as a target amid on-going doubts over the future of Willian.

However, Chelsea will face stiff competition as the Mirror says Man Utd are ready to gazump their rivals by making a move for the 20-year-old attacker themselves this summer.

Jose Mourinho knows he needs to strengthen his squad if United are to compete with Manchester City next season and Richarlison has seemingly been put on his wish-list.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both been linked with moves away from Old Trafford this week so the South American youngster could be viewed as a potential replacement should either player leave this summer.

No doubt Watford will be reluctant to lose Richarlison but the newspaper suggests they’ll cash-in if £40m is put on the table and it looks like Chelsea and United are set to do-battle over a deal at the end of the season.
