President Claims £30m Liverpool & Man Utd Target Is Joining Arsenal

Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan claims Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal ahead of Bayern Munich this summer

The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Caglar Soyuncu is linked with Arsenal

Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan claims Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal this summer, according to the Mirror.

Soyuncu has been a huge hit in the Bundesliga since joining Freiburg from Altindoru in 2016 with the youngster now a permanent fixture in Christian Streich’s starting eleven.

The 21-year-old has been virtually ever present this season and has also racked-up 13 caps for the Turkish national team having previously represented his country at various youth levels.

His impressive form has attracted interest from the Premier League as TeamTalk carried a report recently that claimed Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all expressed their interest in the £30m-rated defender.

Liverpool and United have both been tipped to strengthen their defensive options this summer and Soyuncu is seemingly on their radars but it’s Arsenal who are reportedly in pole position to strike a deal.

TeamTalk’s report said the Gunners had opened talks to sign Soyuncu and it seems the discussions went well as the president of his former club Altinordu claims the centre-back is heading to North London this summer.

Ozkan says Arsenal have beaten off competition from Bayern Munich and his club will benefit from a sell-on clause once the move to the Emirates is complete.

Ozkan is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“Caglar Soyuncu set to join Arsenal. Arsenal demanded his youth information from us. We’ll earn from him, if he joins Arsenal.

“Bayern Munich wants him too, but he’s on the way to the Premier League.”

Whoever takes over from Arsene Wenger in the Arsenal hot seat desperately needs to revamp their defence as the Gunners have been woeful at the back at times this season.

Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is pressing ahead with Arsenal’s summer transfer business and it looks like he’s identified Soyuncu as a prime target.

We’ll have to wait and see if Liverpool or United decide to step-up their interest in the youngster but for now it seems Arsenal are in pole position to sign Soyuncu this summer.
