The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Fabian Ruiz…

Manchester United have agreed to meet Fabian Ruiz’s buyout clause after tabling a £26.3m bid to sign the Real Betis midfielder this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Ruiz has been with Betis his entire career having joined the clubs youth system as a child and he progressed through the ranks to become a first team regular last season.

The 22-year-old made 34 appearances to help Betis finish a very respectable sixth in the La Liga table last year and his potential has also seen him recognised at international level with the Spanish U21s.

Understandably, Betis are desperate to tie him down to a new long-term contract, however, Ruiz’s form has caught the attention of some of Europe’s most powerful clubs.

The midfielder has been earning rave reviews and TeamTalk are citing a report from Don Balon that claims Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been showing a keen interest in signing Ruiz.

It looks like United have stolen a march on their rivals as the Spanish publication says Jose Mourinho’s men have now met Ruiz’s buyout clause after submitting a formal £26.3m [€30m] offer.

Mourinho is in the market for at least one new midfielder this summer as Michael Carrick has retired while Marouane Fellaini is tipped to leave when his contract expires after failing to agree terms over an extension.

Ruiz could be viewed as a potential replacement for the Belgian international and the report says United are desperate to beat the likes of Barcelona to his signature this summer.

The Spaniard is a central midfielder who’s comfortable with the ball at his feet and he looks to have a huge future ahead of him so Ruiz would be an exciting addition to the United squad if they can lure him to Old Trafford.
