Man Utd Target Confirms Interest From Arsenal Amid Reports Of £35m Move

Man Utd target Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed Arsenal’s interest in signing him amid reports linking the £35m-rated defender with a move to England

The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed Arsenal’s interest…

Manchester United target Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed Arsenal’s interest in signing him amid reports linking the £35m-rated Freiburg defender with a move to England this summer, according to Football London.

Soyuncu has starred for Freiburg over the past two seasons since joining the club from Altınordu in the summer of 2016 and he’s now an established member of the Turkish national team.

The 22-year-old’s potential has caught the attention of several European clubs with Football London claiming that Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid have all expressed their interest.

Jose Mourinho is in the market for another centre-back as he looks to build a squad capable of competing with the likes of City next season and it seems Soyuncu is on United’s radar.

However, it’s Arsenal who’ve been touted as favourites for his signature and the defender has now confirmed the north Londoners are keen to sign him this summer.

Soyuncu praised Arsenal as being one of the biggest clubs in England and revealed that he will resolve his future once he returns from international duty following Turkey’s friendly against Russia on June 5.

He’s quoted as saying by Football London:

“Arsenal are one of the most important clubs in England, I know they’re interested in me, but there’s nothing finalized yet about my transfer.

“After the national team camp we’ll have talks.”

The defender’s quotes come shortly after his agent, Mustafa Dogru, told Football London that he is in talks with a number of clubs and Soyuncu has his heart set on a move to England.

Dogru said earlier this month:

“The main objective of the player is to play in the Premier League, that I can tell you at the moment,”

“We are negotiating with some clubs. They (Freiburg) are open to negotiations.”

It seems Arsenal are one of the clubs chasing Soyuncu’s signature this summer and Football London claim Freiburg are looking for around £35m but it remains to be seen if any club will agree to meet that valuation.

New Gunners boss Unai Emery needs to tighten-up their defence as Arsenal conceded 51 league goals last season and Soyuncu could be viewed as a replacement for Per Mertesacker following his retirement.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming days as Arsenal look to complete Soyuncu’s signing but I wouldn’t discount the likes of United from the race just yet.
