Arsenal Ready To Launch Club-Record £60m Bid To Sign Bundesliga Star

Arsenal are ready to launch a club-record £60m bid to sign Corentin Tolisso this summer but they face a tough time persuading Bayern Munich to sell

The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Corentin Tolisso…

Arsenal are ready to launch a club-record £60m bid to sign Corentin Tolisso this summer but they face a tough time persuading Bayern Munich to sell, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Tolisso made his name in France with Lyon after progressing through their youth ranks to become one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1 which earned him a move to Bayern last summer.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a solid first season in the Bundesliga as he provided 10 goals and 7 assists in his 40 appearances in all competitions but he wasn’t a first team regular as he only managed 17 league starts.

It seems Arsenal are ready to offer Tolisso a more prominent role at the Emirates as TeamTalk are citing a report from CalcioInsider that claims Unai Emery has identified him as a prime transfer target.

Our new head coach needs to strengthen in the middle of the park as Santi Cazorla has left the club while the futures of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are in serious doubt due to contract problems.

The report says Emery wants Tolisso to form a new-look midfield at the Emirates next season and has convinced Arsenal to table a club record £60m offer for the French international’s services.

Tolisso is predominantly a central midfielder but he can also play on the right side if needed and he knows Alexnadre Lacazette well having played alongside the Arsenal striker during their days at Lyon.

I think he’d be a superb addition to the squad if we could get a deal agreed, however, that’s not going to be straightforward as the report says Bayern are determined to keep hold of their club-record signing this summer.

We’ll have to wait and see whether that stance changes over the coming weeks but it seems even a £60m offer might not be enough to tempt Bayern in to cashing-in on Tolisso so Emery may have to move on to other targets.
