Man Utd Steal March On Liverpool After Submitting Bid To Sign £70m Star
Manchester United have stolen a march on Liverpool after submitting a £57m bid to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar this summer
The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd have tabled a bid for Liverpool target Milan Skriniar….
Manchester United have stolen a march on Liverpool after submitting a £57m bid to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar this summer, according to a report by the Sun.
Skriniar has developed in to one of the most consistent central defenders in Italian football since joining Sampdoria from Zillna in 2016 and he enhanced his reputation with a superb debut season at Inter Milan after making the move 12 months ago.
The Slovakian international is already being linked with a move away from the San Siro with the Mirror claiming recently that Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs to have registered their interest in signing Skriniar this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to strengthen throughout his squad this summer as he looks to compete on all fronts next year and a new centre-back to partner Virgil van Dijk should be a priority with Skriniar seemingly on his radar.
However, it looks like United have stolen a march on Liverpool as the Sun are carrying a report claiming that the Red Devils have now tabled a formal £57m bid for the highly-rated 23-year-old.
Jose Mourinho is in the market for defensive reinforcements as he looks to build a squad capable of competing with Manchester City after finishing 19 points adrift of their rivals last season and a new centre-back is a priority.
Victor Lindelof is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford following a disappointing debut campaign and Mourinho could be eyeing Skriniar as a potential replacement as he looks for a long-term partner for Eric Bailly.
However, it looks like United may have to dig a little deeper is they want to sign the Serie A star as the newspaper report says Inter are determined not to sell Skriniar for anything less than £70m.
Ambitious Inter are trying to build a side capable of challenging Juventus for the title and it would be counter-productive to lose one of their key players unless it was for an offer they simply couldn’t refuse.
We’ll have to wait and see whether United, or indeed Liverpool, are prepared to meet Inter’s £70m valuation but Skriniar would be an excellent signing if either club could lure him to England this summer.
