Liverpool Open Talks Over Audacious Deal To Sign £140m South American Star

Liverpool have made an enquiry to sign £140m Juventus forward Paulo Dybala as the Reds look to take advantage of Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Turin

The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Paulo Dybala….

Liverpool have made an enquiry to sign £140m-rated Juventus forward Paulo Dybala as the Reds look to take advantage of Cristiano Ronaldo’s proposed move to Turin, according to reports in Italy via TeamTalk.

Ronaldo is reportedly on the verge of a stunning £88m move to Juve as the Portuguese superstar looks to call-time on his nine-year stay in Madrid that’s seen him score an incredible 451 goals to fire the Spanish giants to a whole host of honours including 4 Champions League’s and 2 La Liga titles.

If Ronaldo does complete his proposed switch to the Serie A champions then Juve are going to need to sell one of their stars to make room for the 33-year-old and balance the books, and it seems Liverpool are hoping to take advantage.

TeamTalk are citing a report from Tuttomercatoweb that claims Liverpool are eyeing a sensational swoop for Dybala and have already made contact with Juventus to enquire about the possibility of signing the Argentinean forward this summer.

No doubt Max Allegri would be reluctant to let the 24-year-old leave as he’s developed in to one of the most exciting young attackers in world football since joining the club from Palermo in 2015 but Juve will need to cash-in on someone if they’re to afford Ronaldo’s hefty wage demands.

The Italian publication suggests Liverpool could persuade Juve to sell for around £140m but there is still a chance Madrid could ask for the South American to be included in any deal involving Ronaldo.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen his attacking options this summer after failing to replace Philippe Coutinho following his move to Barcelona in January and Liverpool have already seen a deal to sign Lyon’s Nabil Fekir collapse.

Dybala would be a superb alternative as he’d form a devastating attack alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino if Liverpool were able to lure him to Anfield.

However, £140m is a huge sum and it remains to be seen whether Klopp could persuade the clubs owners to part with that sort of money to sign Dybala this summer so a deal is still a long way from becoming a reality.
