Man Utd Expected To Sign £60m Star As Reds Close-In On 4th Summer Signing
Manchester United are being tipped to beat PSG to the signing of Alex Sandro as the Reds prepare to launch a bid for the £60m-rated Juventus full-back
There is plenty of Manchester United-related gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the Red Devils linked with a whole host of star names. Today, United are tipped to sign Alex Sandro…
Manchester United are being tipped to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the signing of Alex Sandro as the Reds prepare to launch a formal bid for the £60m-rated Juventus full-back, according to a report by TeamTalk.
Jose Mourinho has signed three players so far this summer with third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant arriving along with highly-rated right-back Diogo Dalot and midfielder Fred but the United boss is expected to further strengthen his squad as he looks to compete with Manchester City this season.
A new left-back appears to be on the agenda as Luke Shaw has failed to establish himself under Mourinho over the past two years and although Ashley Young has done a fine job filling-in, the England international is now 33 so a long-term solution is desperately needed.
Sandro has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months with TeamTalk citing the Times as saying earlier this month that personal terms have already been agreed but United were struggling to settle on a fee with Juventus.
This seemed to open the door to PSG as the Ligue 1 champions have also reportedly been in negotiations to sign the Brazilian international this summer as they continue to build a squad capable of winning the Champions League.
However, it looks like United remain in the driving seat as Rai Sports journalist Claudia Garcia claims Sandro is more likely to join Manchester United than PSG this summer.
Garcia is quoted by TeamTalk as saying recently:
“I see Alex Sandro closer to Manchester United. PSG have to sign a midfielder if Adrien Rabiot leaves, they are very interested in Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.”
The news comes after the Independent, via TeamTalk, reported last week that United are set to launch a formal move to sign Sandro with Juventus valuing the full-back at around £60m.
It remains to be seen whether United will be prepared to meet that asking price but Sandro is one of the best left-backs in the world so I think he’d be an excellent addition to their squad if a deal could be agreed.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming days but I expect the rumours to intensify linking Sandro with Old Trafford as Mourinho looks to secure his fourth signing of the summer.
