Man Utd Agree Personal Terms With £35m Star, Deal Being Finalised

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Yerry Mina and are trying to thrash out a deal with Barcelona for the £35m-rated defender

There is plenty of Manchester United gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the English giants linked with a whole host of star names. Today, United are closing-in on the signing of Yerry Mina….

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Yerry Mina and are trying to thrash out a deal with Barcelona for the £35m-rated defender, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Jose Mourinho is hoping to sign at least one more player before the window shuts on Thursday as he’s been frustrated with the clubs lack of activity in the market as United have only signed Fred along with third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant and young full-back Diogo Dalot.

A new central defender is on the agenda as Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof are being linked with moves away from Old Trafford before the start of the new season while the United boss still has doubts over Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly.

Man Utd have struggled to get deals agreed for the likes of Harry Maguire or Toby Alderweireld so Mina has emerged as a target with the Mirror claiming late last week that United chiefs had flown out to Spain to hold talks with Barcelona and the players’ representatives.

Mundo Deportivo now claim that United have agreed terms in principal with the Colombian international after putting forward a firm proposal to his camp and they are now trying to find an agreement with Barca.

The Spanish publication says Everton, Lyon, Zenit St Petersburg and Fenerbahce are also keen on Mina but the defender wants to join Man Utd and he’s now waiting for a fee to be agreed before pushing forward with a move to Old Trafford.

Mundo Deportivo says Barcelona are demanding around £35m despite only paying £10m for the 23-year-old in January as they want to take advantage of the rising market and the fact Mina performed well for his country at the World Cup.

Mina struggled to establish himself since joining Barca from Palmeiras and he’s fallen even further down the pecking order following the arrival of Clement Lenglet from Sevilla this summer so he’s looking to leave in search of regular football.

We’ll have to wait and see how talks progress over the coming days but Mina has the potential to develop in to a top class defender so I think he’d be a solid addition to Man Utd’s squad if they can get this deal over the line before the window closes.
