Liverpool are on the verge of agreeing terms with Fenerbahce over a loan deal for Divock Origi as the striker looks to leave Anfield this summer, according to reports via the Mirror.

Origi joined Liverpool from Lille in 2014 and after spending the next season back on loan at the Ligue 1 club he eventually began his career on Merseyside and enjoyed an encouraging first campaign after scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances in 2015/16.

The striker followed that up with 11 goals the following season but Origi has struggled to hold down a regular first team place and he spent last season out on loan at Wolfsburg where he scored 6 goals in his 31 Bundesliga appearances.

The 23-year-old is behind the likes of Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge in Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order so a move abroad has been on the cards this summer and it seems like Origi is set to head to Turkey.

Spanish outfit Valencia have been linked in recent weeks but the Mirror are citing Turkish-Football as reporting that Liverpool are in advanced talks with Fenerbahce over a deal for the Belgian international.

The report claims that Liverpool are hoping to sell in a permanent deal worth around £26m but Fener are wanting to sign Origi on an initial season-long loan deal and terms are close to being finalised.

Origi has lots of potential but he’s at an age when regular football is important for his development so perhaps another season on loan in Turkey would do him good before coming back to try and forge a career at Liverpool next summer.
