Aaron Ramsey’s agency has sent some Arsenal fans in to meltdown on Twitter after dropping a huge hint the midfielder’s contract situation could be resolved today.

Ramsey’s future at the Emirates Stadium is in serious doubt as he’s got less than one year remaining on his current deal and has so far been unable to agree terms over an extension despite his representatives holding extensive talks with the club in recent months.

There have been reports suggesting the Welsh international is demanding a huge pay increase after Mesut Ozil was handed a £350,000-a-week contract back in January but Arsenal chiefs are reluctant to sign-off another mega deal with the wage bill standing at a record £200m.

It’s sparked speculation Ramsey could be on the move in a cut-price deal in January or even wait to leave as a free agent next summer with the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United touted as potential destinations in the media.

The chance of Ramsey agreeing a new deal at the Emirates took a hit after he was left out of the starting eleven against Chelsea earlier this month but he was back in the team for the 3-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday after Mesut Ozil missed the game through illness.

Arsenal fans have been eager to hear some positive news on Ramsey’s contract and the 27-year-old’s agency, Avid Sports, has sent some of the fan-base in to meltdown on Twitter today after hinting at some imminent ‘big news’.

They tweeted “Hoping for some big news today! #AvidSports”

Obviously Arsenal fans jumped on this Tweet to assume it’s related to Ramsey signing a new contract with many supporters praying an announcement over a new deal is set to be made over the coming hours.

Ramsey has been a vital part of the Arsenal first team in recent years having provided 59 goals and 57 assists in his 334 appearances to help win 3 FA Cup’s since moving to north London from Cardiff ten years ago so understandably fans are desperate for him to commit his future to the club.
