Divock Origi is one of four players expected to leave Liverpool over the coming days as Jurgen Klopp looks to trim his squad before the transfer window closes on Friday night, according to the Mirror.

Klopp splashed out around £170m on several big-money signings this summer with Alisson, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xhedran Shaqiri all arriving to strengthen the first team squad so Klopp has been looking to balance the books in recent weeks.

Goalkeeper Loris Karius has already joined Besiktas after falling down the pecking order following Alisson’s arrival from Roma and now the Merseysiders are ready to ship-out four other fringe players before the end of the month.

After an encouraging start to life at Anfield following his move from Lille in 2015, Origi has struggled for game-time over the past two seasons with Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge ahead of him in the striking pecking-order.

The 23-year-old spent last season out on loan at Wolfsburg and hasn’t made the matchday squad in any of Liverpool’s opening three Premier League games as the club look to find a buyer.

The Mirror claim Liverpool would prefer a permanent deal and held talks with Borussia Dortmund last week but the Bundesliga outfit refused to meet their £27m asking price so a loan move is now more likely with Besiktas one of a number of clubs showing an interest in the Belgian striker.

Lazar Markovic is set to be another high-profile departure, according to the report, with Standard Liege and Anderlecht – where the winger spent the second half of last season – keen on a loan move.

The 24-year-old has flopped since joining Liverpool from Benfica in 2014 and has spent the last two seasons out on loan but another short-term move this summer would effectively mean he’ll leave on a free transfer next year as Markovic has just one year remaining on his contract.

The Mirror claim that Sheyi Ojo is close to joining Stade de Rems on a season-long loan deal while Pedro Chirivella is also expected to leave before the European window closes on Friday despite snubbing a move to Rosenborg.
