Tottenham Handed Injury Boost As Boss Confirms Key Man Will Be Fit To Face Liverpool

Tottenham have been handed a major injury boost as Dele Alli is expected to be fit to face Liverpool despite pulling out of the England squad with a muscle problem.
Alli played the entire ninety minutes for his country at Wembley on Saturday evening as England kicked-off their Nations League campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Spain.
The Spurs attacker was subsequently release from the England squad on Monday and sent back to north London for further assessment after it was revealed he had picked-up a muscle injury.
Alli will therefore miss England’s friendly with Switzerland this evening and there were fears the 22-year-old could be ruled out of Tottenham’s crucial Premier League clash with Liverpool this weekend.
However, Gareth Southgate has eased those fears after confirming that Alli’s injury is a minor one and he should recover in time to be in contention for the visit of Liverpool to Wembley on Saturday lunchtime.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s game with Switzerland, the England boss is quoted as saying by TeamTalk:
“Alli has just had a minor strain and should be fine for his club at the weekend I would think, but Tuesday’s game will come too quickly,”
The news will come as a huge relief to Tottenham as Alli is a vital part of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven and the Argentinean coach will no doubt be relying on the attacking midfielder against Liverpool this weekend.
Spurs saw their 100 percent record end with a 2-1 defeat to Watford before the international break so Saturday’s game with table-topping Liverpool will be a stern test of their title credentials this season.
