[Video Goals] Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool: Firminio Scores As Reds Maintain 100% Start

Liverpool maintained their 100 percent start to the new Premier League season with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley this afternoon.

Liverpool had the better of the first half as a disjointed Tottenham struggled to get going and Jurgen Klopp’s men opened the scoring in the 39th minute when Georginio Wijnaldum’s header just crossed the line despite Michel Vorm’s best efforts to keep it out.

The Merseysiders continued to dominate after the break and doubled their lead int he 54th minute as Roberto Firmino was on hand to tap home from close range following a scrambled on the line.

Tottenham ensured it would be a nervy end to the match as Erik Lamela came off the bench to fire home for 2-1 in the 92nd minute but Liverpool held on to secure a vital three points in London.

It means the Reds have now won all five of their games so far this season and move three points clear at the top of the Premier League table ahead of Chelsea and Watford’s games later today.
