A selection of fans tore in to Mohamed Salah following his disappointing performance during Liverpool’s thrilling Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

Salah has failed to replicate the dizzy heights from last season that saw him score an incredible 43 goals in 50 games across all competitions to help him win a host of individual honours including the 2017/18 Golden Boot and the PFA Player of the Year Award.

The Egyptian international has managed just 2 goals in his 6 games so far this season and failed to get on the score-sheet again last night after seeing a close-range effort ruled out following an apparent foul on the PSG goalkeeper.

Salah’s all-round performances have been poor this season and he capped another disappointing evening by getting substituted in the 85th minute shortly after giving the ball away in the build-up to PSG’s equaliser.

Roberto Firmino saved his team-mates blushes after scoring an injury time winner to secure a 3-2 win and Salah appeared to vent his relief after being seen throwing a water bottle to the ground in the dug out shortly after the Brazilian had made it 3-2 at Anfield.

Some fans took to social media to criticise the Liverpool attacker with a selection of supporters from other clubs calling Salah a ‘fraud’ and a ‘one season wonder’ following his below par display.

Obviously fans from rival clubs are taking delight at Salah’s poor form this season but Liverpool fans have also admitted their star man isn’t at his best with some branding his performance last night as ‘useless’ and ‘awful’.

It’s way too early to start calling Salah a ‘one season wonder’ and the fact is expectations of him are now higher following his exploits from last year. I’m sure it won’t be long before the Egyptian star is back to his best but until his performances improve, we’re going to continue to see some fans calling him out.

He set unbelievably high standards last year and idiots are calling for him to be dropped because he is not quite up to that level this year, only about six games into the season! Pathetic. Any game now he’ll get a brace and the goals and form will begin to flow . . .
