Chelsea will take on Liverpool for the second time in a matter of days as the two Premier League heavyweights face-off at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues will head in to the game in confident mood after coming from behind to beat the previously unbeaten Merseysiders 2-1 at Anfield on Wednesday night and book their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

That win continued Maurizio Sarri’s excellent start to life in England and although the West Londoners were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at West Ham last week, they can leapfrog top of the table Liverpool with a win today.

However, Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to make amends after suffering their first defeat of the season in midweek and the Reds will take comfort from the fact they remain unbeaten in the league having won all six of their games so far.

Team News

Chelsea will be able to call upon Antonio Rudiger as the centre-back is expected to recover from a minor knock that he picked up last weekend while Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also expected to pass late fitness tests.

Kepa, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Eden Hazard and Olivier Giroud are all expected to get recalls after being rested on Wednesday night while Andreas Christensen should recover from a stomach upset.

Virgil van Dijk returned to training yesterday and is expected to start after recovering from a rib injury while Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum are also set to return.

Klopp is expected to recall the likes of Alisson, Andrew Robertson, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino after they were rested in midweek.

Betting Odds

Liverpool are the very slight 6/4 favourites to win the game with Genting while you can back Chelsea at 17/10 to secure the three points and the draw is available at odds of 12/5.

We think this will be a tight game that neither side will want to lose so the draw looks a solid bet and our predicted score of 1-1 is on offer at odds of 11/2. Both teams to score is a decent bet at 1/2 as Chelsea and Liverpool are two attacking teams who should create plenty of chances.

Many are predicting a lot of goals but we think this could be a cagey game so the draw and under 1.5 match goals is tempting at odds of 8/1. You can also get odds of 28/1 on Mo Salah scoring first in a 1-1 draw for those who want a lot of value.
