Manchester United will be looking to close-in on the top four with a win when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Here is the line-up I think Jose Mourinho will go with:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea is certain to keep his place between the sticks this weekend and the Spaniard could be in for a busy afternoon in west London so United will be hoping he’s on top form.

Defence: Mourinho could make a couple of changes in defence after a poor showing at the back against Newcastle United last time out. Antonio Valencia could therefore return at right-back with Ashley Young dropping out.

Victor Lindelof is pushing for a recall at centre-back so Eric Bailly may be the man to make way after his embarrassing early substitution against Newcastle with Chris Smalling keeping his place in the back four. Luke Shaw will be looking to celebrate his new lucrative contract with another fine performance with the England man expected to recover from a minor ankle injury to start at left-back.

Midfield: Mourinho is sweating over the fitness of Nemanja Matic as the midfielder is struggling to overcome a back injury that forced him to pull out of the Serbia squad during the international break. If Matic misses out then Fred could be recalled in midfield after returning from Brazilian duty unscathed.

United have been boosted by the news that Marouane Fellaini is set to shake-off a minor knock so he could start in midfield. Paul Pogba was superb during United’s dramatic comeback victory over Newcastle before the international break so Mourinho will be hoping for more of the same against Chelsea on Saturday.

Attack: Alexis Sanchez came off the bench to score the late winner against the Geordies so he’ll be hoping for a recall in attack. Anthony Martial may be the man to drop out with Marcus Rashford keeping his place in the attack.

Jesse Lingard remains a major doubt with a groin injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks but Juan Mata will be an option from the bench and he’ll be hoping to play some part against his former club after scoring a vital free-kick during the win over Newcastle.

Romelu Lukaku has been struggling in a United shirt of late but he grabbed a couple of morale-boosting goals for Belgian last week so he’ll be hoping to transfer that form to his club against Chelsea on Saturday.

Here is how we think United will line-up:
