[Photos] Triple Fitness Boost For Klopp As Liverpool Trio Train Ahead Of Huddersfield

Liverpool have been handed a triple fitness boost with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and James Milner all training ahead of their trip to Huddersfield Town this weekend.

Salah was forced to return to Merseyside early from international duty after picking up a groin injury during Egypt’s African Cup of Nations win over Swaziland. However, the issue was only minor and the attacker was able to take part in full training with the rest of the Liverpool squad today.

van Dijk was also considered an early doubt for the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium this weekend after missing Holland’s friendly with Belgian on Tuesday night due to an on-going rib injury but the defender was part of the group that trained at Melwood this afternoon so it looks like he’ll be available to face Huddersfield.

In a triple boost for boss Jurgen Klopp, Milner was also snapped in training today after overcoming a hamstring injury that he sustained against Manchester City before the international break.

However, it wasn’t all positive news for Liverpool as Sadio Mane wasn’t involved in training today after undergoing surgery on a broken thumb that he sustained while away with Senegal earlier this week so the attacker is a doubt for this weekend’s action.

Naby Keita is almost certain to miss out on Saturday with initial reports suggesting he’s facing at least two weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury that he picked up while playing for Guinea on Tuesday night.

So it’s mixed news for Klopp as he looks to maintain Liverpool’s impressive start to the new season that sees them sitting joint-top of the Premier League table with Manchester City and Chelsea after eight games.
