Here is our match preview ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Leicester City including team news, expected line-ups and predicted score

Arsenal-Mesut-Ozil-2018

Arsenal can climb as high as third with a comprehensive win when Leicester City come to the Emirates this evening.

The Gunners were firing on all cylinders before the two week international break as our hugely impressive 5-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage made it six straight Premier League victories in a row and nine in all competitions.

That run has seen us close-in on the top of the table and while we head in to the game tonight sitting fifth, a victory by four clear goals would see Arsenal leapfrog Tottenham and Chelsea in to third spot and just two points behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

That would be an excellent position to be in considering we lost our opening two games of the season so Unai Emery must take huge credit for turning things around following a tough start to life in England.

However, Leicester have also enjoyed a solid start to the new campaign as they sit 11th in the division having taken 12 points from their eight games so far so Arsenal won’t be taking anything for granted against the 2015/16 champions.

Team news

Arsenal will welcome Mesut Ozil back in to the squad after he overcame a back problem that kept him out of the trip to Fulham while Danny Welbeck has also recovered from a minor knock.

However, Petr Cech is expected to miss out with an on-going hamstring problem while Sokratis is also set to be absent tonight after suffering an ankle injury while away with Greece during the international break.

Laurent Koscielny is now back in full training as he bids to overcome an Achilles injury that he suffered last season but the skipper won’t be available for selection just yet.

As for Leicester, Wes Morgan is suspended following his dismissal against Everton last time out while Demarai Gray and Matty James are out with ankle and Achilles injuries respectively.

Predicted Score

Arsenal 2-0 Leicester: Arsenal have an excellent recent record against Leicester as we have won each of the last 11 home meetings with the Foxes and are unbeaten in this fixture since 1973. As long as we can contain Vardy – which will be difficult as he’s scored six goals in his six games against us – then I think we’ll be alright. We are on a great run and with the firepower available to Emery in attack, I think we’ll have too much for Leicester this evening.
