Chelsea booked their place in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup after beating Derby County 3-2 in a thriller at Stamford Bridge this evening.

It was a nightmare start for Frank Lampard’s Derby side as Fikayo Tomori – who’s on-loan from Chelsea – put through his own net against his parent club to give Chelsea a 5th minute lead.

Jack Marriott then levelled things up just five minutes later. Fabregas gifted the visitors possession with a sloppy pass, Gary Cahill then slipped allowing Marriott time to place the ball into the bottom corner for 1-1.

Derby then put through their own net for a second time as Richard Keogh made it 2-1 for Chelsea in the 21st minute before Mason Mount provided a beautiful ball for Martyn Waghorn to tap home for 2-2 just six minutes later.

A hectic first half ended with Cesc Fabregas firing home a loose ball in to the top corner to make it 3-2 to the Blues. There were no more goals after the break so Chelsea held on to book their place in the quarter finals draw.
