“All Over The Place” – Paul Merson Offers His Prediction For Bournemouth vs Man Utd

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is predicting goals at Dean Court tomorrow but he thinks Bournemouth will take a point off Manchester United.

United got back to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Everton last weekend with Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial supplying the goals to ease the pressure on Jose Mourinho’s shoulders.

Despite that win, the Manchester giants remain eighth in the table after a difficult start to the new season and they’re nine points off the league leaders so Mourinho desperately needs a win on the South Coast tomorrow lunchtime.

However, Bournemouth are flying this season as they sit sixth in the division – three points above United and just two off the top four – after winning six of their 10 league games this campaign so Eddie Howe’s side will be full of confidence.

Merson believes Bournemouth will give the visitors a tough game tomorrow and is predicting the Cherries to earn a 2-2 draw against a United side that are ‘all over the place’ in defence.

Writing in his column on SkySports.com, Merson said:

Bournemouth vs Manchester United, Saturday 12.30pm

This is a bit of a level game, isn’t it? Over the years you’d say these types of games are a walk in the park for Manchester United, but this is a hard game now.

It’s a hard one to call, too. I went with Manchester United last week 2-1 against Everton because they’re Manchester United. It’s very hard to go against them. But I’m going for a draw here, and it’s a massive compliment to Bournemouth. That’s how far they’ve come, and also where Manchester United have gone too.

United are sometimes better away, but Bournemouth will have a right go at them, and United are all over the place at the back.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-2

If Merson’s prediction proves accurate then it will be a disappointing result for Mourinho as although Bournemouth are flying high, this is the type of game United need to win if they’re to catch the leading pack.
