Juventus vs Man Utd Preview | Key Man Ruled Out | Expected Line-Ups | Prediction

Here is our match preview ahead of Man Utd’s Champions League clash with Juventus in Turin including team news, expected line-ups and predicted score

Manchester United will be looking to bring home a positive result from Turin when they take on Juventus in the Champions League this evening.

The Red Devils warmed up for the game with a dramatic last gasp 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at the weekend that saw them close the gap on the top four in the Premier League to four points but United must now turn their attention to European matters and a huge game in Italy.

Jose Mourinho’s men slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford last month that’s left them sitting five points adrift of the Serie A champions in Group H so they need a win to stand any chance of finishing top.

However, United also have to look over their shoulders as Valencia are just two points behind in third and can jump in to second with a win over Young Boys in the 5.55pm kick-off so Man Utd could find their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages hanging in the balance if they lose this evening.

As for Juventus, they know that they will secure safe passage to the next phase if they avoid defeat tonight while a win would wrap-up top spot with two games remaining so they’ll be looking for a repeat of the result from Old Trafford two weeks ago.

Team news

United will have to make do without Romelu Lukaku as the striker has not travelled to Italy due to a muscle issue that kept him out of the Bournemouth game and may rule him out of the Manchester Derby this coming weekend.

Right-back Diogo Dalot is also missing but Antonio Valencia is back in the squad after recovering from a knock while Marouane Fellaini is available again having overcome a groin injury that’s hampered him for the last month.

Juventus will hand a late fitness tests to Douglas Costa after he picked up a knock at the weekend while Mario Mandzukic is also a doubt with a muscle problem.

Predicted Score

Juventus 2-0 Man Utd: Juve have lost just one of their last 35 home Champions League group stages matches and they dominated United in the game at Old Trafford two weeks ago. Mourinho’s side have been hugely inconsistent this season and while they are capable of producing a performance to get a result tonight, I just can’t see past a home win. Juventus are just too well organised and with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala in attack, they’ll pick United off.
