Mourinho Dealt Fresh Injury Blow: Man Utd Star Set To Miss Crucial Arsenal Clash

Manchester United have been dealt a fresh injury blow as Alexis Sanchez is set to miss next weeks huge clash with Arsenal due to a hamstring injury, according to the Mirror.
United confirmed on ManUtd.com last night that Sanchez was being assessed by the clubs medical team after sustaining a hamstring injury during Thursday’s training session at their Carrington training base.
Sanchez took to social media to post a picture of him undergoing initial treatment at home and further tests will be conducted to determine the full extent of the injury but the Mirror claim the Chilean international is expected to be ruled out for at least two weeks.
That means the 29-year-old will miss Saturday evening’s trip to the south coast to take on Southampton while he will also be ruled out of the crucial clash with former club Arsenal at Old Trafford next Wednesday night.
If the two-week lay off is confirmed then Sanchez will also miss the game with Fulham and the Champions League trip to Valencia next month while he may also face a race against time to make the trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool on December 16th.
The news will come as another blow to Jose Mourinho after he lost Victor Lindelof for around a month due to a groin injury last week but it’s a real setback for Sanchez as he continues to endure a torrid time at Old Trafford.
The South American has lost his place in Mourinho’s starting eleven in recent weeks having scored just four goals in 30 appearances since joining United from Arsenal as part of a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan back in January.
Sanchez didn’t even make the bench for United’s Champions League win over Young Boys on Tuesday night after failing to impress as a substitute against Crystal Palace last weekend and it’s fuelled rumours he’s eyeing a move away from the Manchester giants this winter.
No doubt Sanchez would have been keen to prove himself against Arsenal next week if given the chance by Mourinho but the attacker is now set to miss the game against his former club after picking up this hamstring injury.
