Tottenham Confirm Fresh Injury Concern: 5 Players Could Miss Arsenal Clash
Tottenham will look to cement their position in the top four with a positive result when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a full team news and injury update including the latest on Erik Lamela, Mousa Dembele, Kieran Trippier, Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama.
Spurs have confirmed a fresh injury concern ahead of the North London Derby as Lamela will require a late fitness check after being forced off with a thigh problem during their crucial 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Pochettino has also been dealt a blow with the news that Trippier won’t be ready just yet as the right-back is still working his way back to full fitness from a groin injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks.
Dembele returned to north London last week following a stint in Qatar as part of his rehabilitation on an ankle ligament injury but the Belgian international isn’t expected to be available again until later next month so he’ll also miss the trip to Arsenal this weekend.
Sanchez is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury that’s likely to keep him on the sidelines until the New Year while Wanyama is still receiving treatment on an on-going knee injury that he’s struggled to shake off in recent weeks.

It means that if Lamela is ruled out then Pochettino will have to make-do without five first team players this weekend as he takes his squad to the Emirates for a huge derby clash with rivals Arsenal.
Spurs head in to the weekend action sitting third in the table after beating Chelsea last week but fifth-placed Arsenal are just three points behind so Pochettino’s side will be desperate to cement their position with a positive result.
